With the warmer temperatures today I noticed more raptor activity on my commute to the lab. I spotted 7 Red-tailed Hawks (4 soaring on thermals and 3 perched in trees) and 1 American Kestrel along the road side eating breakfast. Common Goldeneye and Common Mergansers are still present on the Tevatron moat. Temperatures are expected to get above freezing this weekend and into Monday, but looks like more winter weather is on its way for next week.
